A pocket radio for the mesh. The Mesh Card is a Meshtastic handheld the size of a car key: it joins the same radio mesh as a Lantern Mesh and lets a phone that is out of the house, out of Wi-Fi range and out of cell service send and receive short messages through it, miles at a time, relayed node to node, with no towers and no internet.

What it is for

• The person who is out. Clip it to a bag or a belt. Their phone pairs to it over Bluetooth and the free Meshtastic app shows the same messages the Lantern shows at home. Bought with a Lantern Mesh, it arrives already on that house's private channel; bought later, scan the code on the Lantern's Mesh page and it joins.
• A second house, a neighbour, a shop. Every Mesh Card is another node: it relays for the others and extends how far the mesh reaches.
• Where you are. It has its own GPS; its position shows on the Lantern's map at home.

What is in the box

• The Mesh Card (Seeed SenseCAP T1000-E), flashed with Meshtastic and set to the US band, with the same channel as your Lantern Mesh so they find each other out of the box
• A USB-C charging cable and a lanyard
• A card with the three steps: charge, pair, message
